Who are we?
UMAMI GALLERY is a gallery space with a kitchen where your products and works of art can meet New Yorkers in midtown Manhattan. We typically sell Japanese food during lunch hours and host a gallery of Japanese crafts. Ideal for an art gallery or pop-up store, it allows you to connect with your customers personally. Kitchen facilities are also available to host food handling events.
The restaurant was just renovated and opened in January 2023 and is a quick 5-minute walk from Grand Central Station. The store's entrance faces the street, making it easy to catch the eye of passing customers. The shop is available after 3:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and all-day Sunday, so please feel free to contact us for more information.
Past clients have included: arts and crafts exhibitions, Japanese food tasting events, customer surveys, and test sales.
Who are you?
The pop-up store will be located in a store that attracts 200 people interested in Japanese food every day, so it is expected to attract a steady stream of customers. This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to explore opening their own stores, conduct marketing before opening their own stores overseas, or expand their brand from existing stores in Japan.
We have had participants with a variety of purposes. Stores and products that deal in Japanese products or are operated by Japanese people are eligible to apply. There will be a screening process after application.
